  • Why take my baby to swim?

    • It is recommended to start the aquatic education program before the age of 8 months, when water is accepted more easily than at older ages, swimming reflexes are still present and can be stimulated.
    • Fear of water can occur with the child getting older and can certainly develop if it is “protected” by the contact with the aquatic environment.
    • In water, the baby can practice more muscle groups than on land because it is less restricted by gravity.
    • Early mastery of water movement, allows the child to have a considerable advantage in learning swimming processes later on.
    • Water movement improves muscle tone, coordination and balance, which accelerates the appearance of walking and has beneficial effects on all levels of development.
    • Relaxation and stimulation exercises, combined with the warm water in the pool, stimulate appetite and sleep which have a positive effect on the baby’s development.
    • Once they learn to feel good, to be independent in the aquatic environment, self-confidence will grow and it will allow the baby to experiment a lot of new things.
    • Teaching the baby to swim doesn’t only mean a fun, healthy activity, but a safety measure in the aquatic environment as well.

    What is the duration of the Acvatic Bebe Club lessons?

    • Super Bebe membership refers to the category aged between 4 months and 18 months, and for this period, the session will last for 30-35 minutes, depending on the availability of the child.
    • Little Scout membership, represents the category aged between 18 months and 3 years, and for this stage, the duration of the sessions will be of 40 minutes.
    • VIP (Very Important Personality) membership, representative for the 3 and 5 years old age group and the Expert membership, specific for the 5 years old require 45 minutes long lessons.

    How many times a week is it indicated to bring the kid at the pool?

    Ideally it is to have a frequency of 2 sessions per week, with at least one day off in between, in order to have be more efficient.

    What equipment is necessary for the lesson?

    • Water Pampers, for children up to 3 years, and a swimsuit over.
    • Towel / bathrobe and slippers for children who walk.
    • Shower gel, shampoo, body lotions, ear sticks.
    • Swim cap for companions and children.

    What is adjustment and readjustment with the aquatic environment?

    • To adjust with the unfamiliar environment, for the first sessions is recommended that a parent go in the water with the child (4 lessons minimum, and depending on the child’s reaction after these meetings, at the instructor’s proposal, the parent can get out of the water)
    • Readjustment is done after an interruption of the aquatic education program which is longer than 2 weeks or during uncomfortable periods depending on the age, the parent getting into water only for the transfer towards the instructor.
    • The parent accompanying the child in the water during the adjustment or readjustment period, has the emotional support role in the parent – child – teacher relationship and will comply with the requirements of the instructor.

    What happens if the baby starts crying?

    Normally, babies respond positively to water, but the reasons for crying can be multiple (he is tired, hungry, noise bothered him has abdominal cramps, has swollen gums, etc.). Therefore the discomfort must be identified and reduced, because, if associated with water, it can cause a negative when getting in contact with water the next time.

    If the baby gets water in his ear, can he get an infection caused by it?

    • This can occur in the case of an infection of the external ear, only if the water that remains in the ear canal has not been removed, which allows bacteria to cause an infection.
    • In case of an intern ear infection, studies have shown that there is no link between this type of infection and swimming.

    What advantages are there if they begin aquatic education sessions in the winter time?

    • It is important to start the program no matter the weather, since temperature changes and climatic factors can significantly contribute to strengthening the immune system.
    • It is the only winter activity, where your child socialize and develop psychomotor (through a game with rules), where there is no risk of getting sick, being in a safe environment under strict supervision and guidance of specialized personnel with experience in this field.

    What to do during cold or warm season at the pool?

    To promote continuity of activities at the pool and strengthening the immune system:

    • We recommend arriving at the pool 10-15 minutes before the lesson, giving up the warm clothes at the club entrance, for better acclimatization to the ambient inside.
    • At the beginning, as well as at the end of the session, showers should not be done with hot water, the temperature being at a comfort value for the baby’s skin (32-34 ° C).
    • * The child will be transported from the locker room to the pool in a towel or robe.
    • * The shower at the beginning of the session plays the role of acclimatization, for which we recommend to be done just before entering the water, without the child’s skin being dry (do not towel dry the child after showering).
    • * After the lesson ends another shower with water at a temperature of comfort for the baby’s skin will be taken; also make sure there is no fluid in the ear canal and dry your child’s hair.
    • * Getting the child dressed will be done gradually, warm clothes will be put on when leaving the club, after the acclimatization break so that pores close, at least 15 minutes between the shower and leaving time.

    Why is it important to be continuity in the aquatic education program?

    • After a longer break children may lose the skills they learned because they have no muscle memory.
    • Positive results and acquisitions gained from a steady program are more obvious and last longer.
    • Our club offers optimal conditions to participate in such programs throughout the year, and children feel completely comfortable and safe from the weather outside.

    Do you offer the possibility of recovering missed?

    Yes, we offer the possibility to recover the lessons in conformity with the regulations.

    When does the baby learn how to swim?

    • If you refer to an independent aquatic travel on a short distance (4-5 meters), this is possible around the age of 2.
    • If it is about the technical compliance with the swimming process, around the age of 4.

    When should I feel confident leaving my child in a swimming pool on his own?

    Never! No child is completely safe in water or around it. Learning how to swim is safer, but never safe. Regardless of how well the child knows how to swim, it is the responsibility of the parent to assure the permanent supervision of an adult.

    Why does my child react negatively to contact with aquatic environment elsewhere?

    This occurs even when the child is accustomed to water; time for accommodation is required, as well as support from the parent in relation to the new environment, which may differ from the known conditions of (temperature, atmosphere, strangers, not keeping up with his own pace, etc.).

    Can I practice in my spare time what my child has learned in the aquatic education program?

    This is recommended ONLY on the advice and guidance of the instructor who worked with the child.
