Why should I take my baby to aquacy classes?

It is recommended to start the aquatic education program before the age of 8 months, when water is more easily accepted and swimming reflexes are still present and can be stimulated.

Why should I choose Acvatic Bebe Club?

ABC instructors specialize in working with babies as young as 4 months.

ABC Club is the only club where water disinfection is done by a mixed system of ozone and UV rays with a direct effect on the quality and purity of the water, which in this way has no chlorine odor.

In the club we have a full time nurse employed, who can offer support and counseling, if needed and at the parents' request.

All Acvatic Bebe Bebe Club instructors have a first aid course completed at the time of employment and refreshed annually thereafter.

Our instructors, through their professional training as well as their personal qualities, apply play-based learning methods so that children have fun while learning essential skills.

The individual instructor-child program allows to personalize each session according to the child's availability and own pace of development, the elements being structured in the form of play.

In addition to the aquatic education activity, you can sign up and participate in workshops on various themes for parents and children of all ages (theater, educational workshops, etc.) taking place in the premises Saline ABC.

How long are the sessions at Acvatic Bebe Club?

The Super Baby Subscription is for the age group between 4-36 months, and for this period, the duration of the session will be 40 minutes, depending on the availability of the child.

The Little Scout subscription is for the 3-6 age group, and for this stage, the duration of a session will be 50 minutes, depending on the child's availability.

How many times a week should I take my child swimming?

Ideally, you should have 2 sessions per week, with at least one day off in between, to get a better return.

What equipment is needed for the swimming session?

The necessary equipment consists of:

  • swimming helmet
  • special water pampers, for children up to 3 years old
  • briefs/swimsuit (regardless of age)
  • towel/bathrobe for children walking alone
  • shower gel, shampoo, body lotions, ear sticks

Accompanying adult equipment (if entering the class teaching area):

  • swimsuit
  • bathrobe
  • pool slippers
  • swimming helmet

What does getting used to and reacclimatizing with the aquatic environment involve?

In order to get used to the unfamiliar environment, during the first sessions it is recommended that the parent gets in the water with the child (on average 4 lessons, and depending on the child's reaction, the parent can get out of the water at the instructor's suggestion).

Re-acclimatization is done after a break in the aquatic education program of more than two consecutive weeks or for periods of discomfort according to age, with the parent entering the water only for transfer to the instructor.

The parent who accompanies the child in the water during the period of adjustment or re-acclimatization has the role of emotional support in the parent-child-instructor relationship and will comply with the instructor's requirements.

What happens if the baby starts crying?

Babies usually respond positively in water, but the reasons for crying can be multiple (tired, hungry, disturbed by noise, abdominal cramps, sore gums, separation anxiety, etc.), so the instructor together with the parent will need to identify the source of discomfort.

It is important to keep in mind that the aquatic environment is a learning context. Beyond the motor skills it stimulates, water training requires patience, tolerance, and attention from the little ones.

Learning is not an easy process and, like any process, it takes time for skills to develop, which can be demanding and even frustrating for some children. Some children have a low tolerance for frustration, so they may start crying, aiming to abandon the task.

Part of the aquatic education process is to increase frustration tolerance, and our instructors are trained to deal with these moments with games, rest and relaxation, during which time the baby is positively stimulated and crying is replaced by good humor.

Empathy, patience and cooperation between child, instructor and parent are essential to overcome these moments of frustration.

If water gets in your baby's ear, is there a risk of infection?

A possible infection can only occur in the outer ear if the remaining water in the ear canal has not been flushed out, which allows bacteria to act.

The attending nurse or club instructors can guide you to clean the ear canal correctly to avoid this risk.

In the case of inner ear infection, studies have shown that there is no link between this type of infection and swimming.

When does a baby learn to swim?

First independent short-distance aquatic movements (4-5 meters) are possible around 18-24 months of age.

Technical adherence to the swimming process starts around the age of 4.

When should I feel confident leaving my child in a pool on their own?

Never! No child is completely safe in or around water, as external factors can affect a child's ability to swim.

No matter how good a child is at swimming, he or she should always be supervised by an adult. Learning to swim is safer, but never completely safe.

Are there differences between starting swimming lessons in winter versus summer?

It is important that the start of the program is not conditioned by the weather outside, temperature changes and climatic factors can actually contribute significantly to strengthening the immune system.

Swimming is the only activity in the cold season, where children socialize and develop psychomotor skills, where they do not risk getting sick, in a safe environment under the strict supervision and guidance of specialized and experienced staff.

How to acclimatize in the cold season?

To promote the continuity of pool activity and strengthen the immune system:

We recommend to arrive at the pool 10-15 minutes before the start of the session, leaving your thick clothes at the entrance of the club for better acclimatization to the environment.

Both at the beginning and at the end of the session, the shower should not be hot, as the temperature is comfortable for the baby's skin.

Transportation between the swimming pool and the changing room is in towel or bathrobe.

The shower at the beginning of the session is for acclimatization, so we recommend it just before entering the water. After the shower, the child should not be wiped/wiped.

At the end of the session you will shower again with water at a comfortable temperature, check that there is no liquid in the ear canal and dry your child's hair.

Your child will be dressed gradually, with thick clothes being put on as you leave the club, after the acclimatization break of at least 15 minutes between shower and departure.

Why is it important to have continuity in the aquatic education program?

After a longer break, children may lose learned skills because they lack muscle memory.

The positive results and gains achieved through a consistent program are more evident and last longer.

The acclimatization process and the ABC teaching method allow courses to be held regardless of the season.

Do you offer the possibility to make up missed meetings?

Yes, we offer the possibility to make up meetings according to the rules.

Why does my child react negatively when I take him to another pool?

Although accustomed to the water, the child may need some time to adjust to the new environment and parental support.

Their mood can be affected by external factors such as temperature, environment, strangers, not keeping their own rhythm, etc.

Can I practice what my child has learned in the aquatic education program during free time?

This should only be done on the advice and methodical guidance of the specialized instructor working with the child.
