What benefits do water safety techniques have for your baby?
As I suggested in a previous blog article (https://acvaticbebeclub.ro/de-ce-sa-mergi-cu-bebelusul-tau-la-educatie-acvatica-chiar-din-primele-sale-luni-de-viata), aquatic education classes play an extremely important role in the early development of little ones. We are talking about both physical and emotional development, but also about the child's ability to cope on their own in certain situations.
To obtain all the benefits mentioned above, Acvatic Bebe Club professionals adopt special teaching techniques, personalized for each baby/child. They also involve practicing numerous aquatic safety techniques, intended to stimulate or create a series of automatisms in the little onesFor example, in the event of an accidental fall into the water of a child who has followed the aquatic education program at our club, he or she will know how to act naturally.
Between safety techniques that we practice with the little ones in aquatic education classes include, among others:
- Grasping the edge of the pool. Babies/young children are encouraged to learn this action by developing their grip on the instructor's hand and floating objects (e.g., a raft or a water stick).
- Returning to the water while keeping your head above water.
- Recovering the vertical position (horizontal position - grouped position - vertical position), an action that will give the little one confidence and security.
- Coordination of the lower limbs for relaxation, flotation and propulsion
- Practicing aquatic breathing.
All of these are necessary for managing and resolving a risk situation later, independently. At Acvatic Bebe Club, practicing safety techniques by the instructor and the baby/child comes with a lot of fun and brings many benefits in the present and future development of children. Thanks to them, the baby/child:
- will not panic upon contact with water or in the event of an accidental fall into the water,
- will not become spastic, respectively will have the intuition to save himself,
- will seek to orient itself and hold on to something,
- He will gain confidence in himself and his own strength.
- will enjoy Pajama day (https://acvaticbebeclub.ro/pyjama-days-educatie-acvatica-in-pijama)
It is very important that, during swimming lessons, parents do not intervene in the training without receiving specific instructions from ABC professionals. Although they may be well-intentioned, such interventions can delay the achievement of the established objectives. However, there are a number of actions that you can put into practice, so that the safety techniques and knowledge acquired in the aquatic education program are imprinted as well as possible in the children's way of acting. At home, you can tell stories with aquatic themes to support the activity during the lessons at the pool, spent with the instructor, and we even recommend in this regard the club book "I'm not afraid of water" which comes with many interesting stories and colorful illustrations inspired by the aquatic education lessons offered by our instructors since 2012. Thus, you give them courage and confidence that, through swimming, your little one will develop harmoniously and become strong and independent.
At Acvatic Bebe Club, the ABC Method ( https://acvaticbebeclub.ro/metoda-abc ) used in aquatic education and swimming programs was developed together with specialists in this sport, as well as with psychologists, so that the little ones can enjoy a positive learning environment, and parents can have the guarantee that their children receive proper care.
